And so damn proud of it!

FINALLY, my stuff was accepted and FINALLY I was able to get my job contract and FINALLY I stood in front of a US Army Captain and said those sacred words that would solidify the rest of my life bright into my upcoming future. Finally....

Yes, my dear and probably-not-giving-a-crap friends, I am currently and OFFICIALLY enlisted in the United States Army. I tell you what, when I got to just be done and everything with this crap, I was so proud I thought I was going to burst.

In celebration of my recent accomplishment, my OddSquadians and I ventured out to the Rivertown Crossings mall in attempts for me to FINALLY purchase my grand prize: a big effin greasy cheeseburger and BOY did it taste good. Like the icing on a cake that you have been staring at for months on end but never actually got to taste it. Victory tastes so good.

I also tried to spice it up by seeing which shops in the mall would accept my military ID card and give me a discount. We were passing by some fudge shop and the woman working there was wrapping candy in wrappers and one of my faithful OddSquadians asked what she was doing. She told us what I told you and I popped in with:

"Can I have one for free?"

The lady laughed.

"Not even if I showed you my military id? Can I get a discount?"

"No, but you CAN support local businesses and just buy one. -smile!-"

I walked away, telling her I may but not right now.

And now comes the fun parts. Learning what I need to do before basic shows up in March. I am so proud of myself that I feel kinda bad for it. I feel like I'm on top of the world because I finally accomplished something so many people have tried talking me out of and tried knocking me away from. I finally have it here in the palm of my hand so I can literally just proudly say I worked hard for what I earned and I will proudly display it with honor throughout my life.

Ahhhh...it is a good day.
